A group of senior Manchester United officials would now be willing to consider ‘serious’ offers for Anthony Martial, a report says.
The French striker hit his career-best total last season, netting 23 goals and laying on 12 others.
As such, hope that the 25-year-old had turned a corner increased, with inconsistency marring his previous seasons at Old Trafford.
However, that inconsistency has returned. Martial has only netted seven goals this term, despite maintaining his regular role in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s plans.
However, the report adds that club chiefs will only consider ‘serious’ offers.
There is no valuation estimate from inside Old Trafford given, but he is worth almost £50million according to Transfermarkt.
Eurosport adds that United’s interest in Jadon Sancho could play a part in Martial’s future.
The Red Devils wanted to sign Borussia Dortmund winger last summer, but did not want to pay £108million.
However, that price will likely decrease this time around and, as previously reported, United hope that a bid closer to £50million may take Dortmund’s fancy.
In any case, Old Trafford bosses feel ‘excited’ about the future blend of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood.
Fernandes only signed last January, while Greenwood penned a new long-term deal earlier this month.
Boyhood Mancunian Rashford, meanwhile, has insisted that he wants to spend the rest of his career at his favourite club.
As such, it remains unclear where Martial will fit into the club’s plans if he cannot rediscover his best form.
Man Utd to offer trio for Rice
As well as Sancho, West Ham midfielder Declan Rice is supposedly another key target for United.
The 22-year-old has already become a club stalwart despite his young age, playing every minute in the Premier League this season.
But with his international presence with England also blossoming, United are reportedly ready to step up plans to sign him.
