World Athletics Championships 2022: World 100m champion Fred Curley out of world relay competitions due to injury
100m world champion Fred Kerley has been ruled out of the 4x100m relay due to a “minor injury to his quadriceps,” a team official said on Wednesday. Follow the World Athletics Championships live updates with InsideSport.IN
Curley saw his hopes of a world double sprint rise in smoke Tuesday as he failed to advance from the 200m semi-final, complaining at the time about what he said was a spasm in his thigh.

“Fred sustained a minor thigh muscle injury during the 200m semi-final. He will no longer be able to run the 4 x 100 relay per week,” the official told AFP.

The men’s relay preliminaries are scheduled for Friday, with the final on Saturday.
The US relay team can still have the likes of Marvin Prause and Trayvon Brommel, who completed the 100m lead in the US purge, as well as Elijah Hall, Kerry King and Josephus Lyles.
